Handy Tips

Learning should be fun!

One important thing I would encourage parents to never do is force your child to learn.   Allow them to learn in a play based environment and they will enjoy learning about the world they live in. Many parents have shared ideas of how they use the ABC flash card book.  Below are some of these ideas!

·
Put the book on a table next to their bed and do a different letter each day.  If your child is old enough, have them look for other items in the house or outside that start with the letter for that day.

·
Place the flash card book next to the change table and do the same letter for one day each time you change their nappy.

·
Play peek a boo with your child saying the letter and then lifting the flap.

·
Quickly flash through the letters and the corresponding pictures and see how flash your memory is in recalling the correct image for each letter.

·
Use each letter of the alphabet to think of values that start with that letter.  For example:
‘A’ is for appreciation            ‘B’ is for brave           ‘C’ is for consideration

·
Make silly sentences using the picture.  For example:     An ant ate an apple on top of an ape.
